WHAT IS MPS?
Many of our firsy time patients at Advanced Pain Rehab are not aware of Microcurrent Point Stimulation (MPS) therapy. Some have heard of us thanks to referrals of friends, some are diligently seeking alternative ways to feel better instead of using more traditional medicine practices, and some are at the end of their rope, ready to try anything to finally feel some relief. In any case, once a first time patient walks out of our clinic after a treatment, they know that MPS therapy gives them the chance at living a healthy life with less pain.
So what is MPS? Microcurrent Point Stimulation (MPS) therapy aims to regulate the body’s nervous system and increase the production of endorphins. Thanks to environmental, medical, and other factors, our bodies are constantly in a state of stress. That consistent stress on our systems can cause our bodies to revert to a “fight or flight” response. Without a system for balance, the body’s nervous system can quickly become over active.
MPS therapy steps in, using a DC microcurrent applied to certain therapeutic points on the body, giving your muscles the chance to relax and your nervous system to calm down. The process also increases the production of endorphins, hormones that make you feel good and that are your body’s natural pain relievers. In just an hour of MPS therapy, you can experience up to 80% of pain relief.
